Dr. Hilda Ikiriza, a 2022 PHARMBIOTRAC Ph.D. graduate in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, reflects on her impactful journey. Now a senior research scientist, she has set up a cutting-edge laboratory, secured research grants, and leads projects in plant cell culturing and microbial studies to combat antimicrobial resistance. Dr. Hilda aspires to expand research into virology and cytotoxicity, showcasing the enduring impact of PHARMBIOTRAC’s support.
Dr. Julius Kyomya, a pharmacist and researcher at Mbarara University of Science and Technology, shares his journey as a PHARMBIOTRAC-sponsored scholar. Since graduating with a Master of Pharmacy in Clinical Pharmacy (2024), he has innovated in diabetes care, advanced research in antimicrobial resistance and mental health, and mentored young pharmacists. He credits Pharmbiotrac’s training and community outreach programs for shaping his vision in community health.
